FAQ

When will my order ship?

When an order is shipped is largely determined by if that order contains bait or not, but every order goes through two phases before they are sent to you. First, we begin the manufacturing phase for the accessories and the tackle purchased on the order. If an order does not contain bait, your order will be sent to you when it has finished the manufacturing phase; however, if you have ordered bait, your order will then move on to the bait phase. In the bait phase, your order will sit on standby until the day of the week that we make our baits arrives, at which point your order will be fulfilled and shipped to you. Our current bait making days are as follows:

When should I place my bait order?

If you are trying to give some of our bait as a gift or have a planned fishing trip coming up and you want to order some, we understand why you would want to plan ahead when choosing to order. There are a few rules to consider when planning though. As a rule of thumb, bait ordered on a bait making day will be deferred to the next scheduled day. It is also important to note that we use USPS to deliver our products to you and shipping times can vary depending on geographical location, demand, and time of year. All of our shipping times are approximations, not guarantees. The best practice is to place your order at least one week in advance of a fishing trip. Bait must be stored in a cool and dry environment. When properly stored, our bait will last approximately 6 months. Do not store our bait in the plastic bag in direct sunlight. The bag will act like a greenhouse allowing moisture to form. It is important to properly dry the boilies after opening to ensure freshness.

What is our return policy?

We work hard to ensure every product leaving Michigan Magic Bait and Tackle Company is of the highest quality, but we also understand that accidents can happen along the way. If you receive your package and the product inside is broken or missing from the shipping process, we are happy to work with you to make it right. While we take every precaution to carefully package your bait, a small number of bags may fail to fully seal, allowing oxygen and humidity to enter the packaging. In the event that this does happen, and your unopened bait becomes spoiled, we are happy to make exchanges within 30 days of your purchase. If you receive an article of clothing from us that has damaged seams or the logo, graphic, or embroidery is damaged from the manufacturing process, we are happy to work with you and find a suitable replacement. Additionally, we take great efforts to ensure that the product images on our site are as close to the physical products as possible, but it is impossible to guarantee that all images appear the same across all systems.

Example situations where we may refuse to accept returns:

  • The product is no longer wanted

  • The product is not what was expected

  • The product did not arrive in the timeframe it was expected to arrive

  • The incorrect product was ordered

  • A product did not perform as expected

The return process may be started here. In the event a return is warranted, a return label will be sent to you free of charge. Finally, we reserve the right to decline, change, or amend our return policy at any time and without advanced notice.

Proper Boilie Care:

Do not allow boilies to sit in a bag where moisture is present. Ideally, boilies should be stored in a cotton bagaway from sources of high humidity. If moisture has formed, the boilies should be allowed to air dry on a tray as soon as possible to prevent ropy mold from forming. The bacteria that form ropiness cannot be destroyed through conventional cooking methods and are present in ALL baked goods. Chemical preservatives are the only way to prevent this, but we do not include artificial ingredients in our boilies which is why proper care is important. Ropy spoilage will first appear as a sticky slime on the outside of the bait. Do not use if spoiled.
